Introduction

The Athens International Airport is a state-of-art modern airport that was opened to the world in 2001. The ADAMANT (Airport Decision And MAnagement NeTwork) project will deliver novel intelligent services to both airport staff and passengers.

The aim of the project is to utilise Intelligent Agent and Multiple Agent System as the basic platform, providing various value-added services. The project has started at summer 2002 and is expected to end at Spring 2005, some of the new service trials will be available during the hottest event in 2004 - the Athens Olympic Games.

The project has focused on three key objectives:

  • To provide an intelligent, personalised, location-based information and decision support system for travellers and airport services.
  • To provide management of the communication resources serving the particular location or route, under normal conditions and emergency situations.
  • To create “roaming/location sensitive” SLA management framework.

For further project description, please see the brief presentation.
